Project: Lasalle Commons

The Commons exemplifies an Equitable Transit-Oriented Development by offering a combination of affordable and market-rate housing in various building typologies and unit styles that are anchored by the NFTA-Metro Rail LaSalle Station and its incorporation into the project. The Commons also pursues a design approach that seeks integration with the neighborhood through strong pedestrian and bike connections; creation of public spaces, both active and passive; providing parking for commuters; and offering overflow parking for Shoshone Park. With equal importance, the Commons prioritizes the pedestrian experience along Main Street and entering the site, as well as providing commercial spaces for contributing to a vibrant streetscape and offering utility for the neighborhood.

This project is in response to the Request for Proposals issued by the City of Buffalo, in partnership with the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (“NFTA”). The project team consists of McGuire Development Company and Blackfish Companies. The landscape design was done in collaboration with Dirtworks.
